Jerry has over 26 years of experience as a trial attorney, with a special interest in medical negligence cases. Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory accords Jerry its highest level of rating for professional excellence through its peer review process. In the course of his career, Jerry has tried hundreds of cases to verdicts in two states. Jerry was born and raised in Virginia where he also attended college and law school. Upon graduation from law school, he practiced law in West Virginia where his work was devoted primarily to the defense of physicians and hospitals in medical negligence cases. After moving to North Carolina 20 years ago, he has worked exclusively on behalf of those injured by the negligence of others.
Jerry is married to Daria Ragan, an RN and legal-nurse consultant, who is now a full time student at Union-PSCE at Charlotte as she prepares to become an ordained Presbyterian minister. Jerry is a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Belmont, NC. He also serves as volunteer legal counsel to the Belmont Parish Nurse Ministry program. Jerry and Daria have four children and live in Belmont.
